Designing a house is one of the most rewarding commissions there is, and one of the most personal. At COLANA arquitectura we are with you from the moment you have the plot, or while you are still looking for it, until the day you get the keys. We work in Girona, the Costa Brava and the rest of the province from our office in the city.
How we work

Site study
Before drawing anything, we go and see it. We look at the planning rules, orientation, views and topography. Every plot has its own light and landscape, and we start from there so that the house feels as if it had always been there. If you are still choosing between several, we help you decide.

Design
We listen to how you live and how you want to live. From there we design the house with you, from the first ideas to the basic and detailed design, with every detail the works will need.

Materials
We like working with timber and stone, noble materials that age well, with a contemporary design that is simple and unpretentious.

Planning permission
We prepare and submit the documents to the town council and follow them up until the building permit is granted.

Builder
We help you request quotes, compare them on the same basis and explain the differences, so that you can choose with peace of mind.

Site supervision
We are on site when needed: we answer questions, check that what is built matches the design and look after the details to the very end. Building a house takes months, and we keep you informed so that you can enjoy the process.

Llorà House
A single-storey house in Sant Martí de Llémena, opening onto the landscape through two porches, one at the front and one at the back. From the living room the garden can be seen in both directions, and life in the house looks outwards.
In La Rioja
Zaldúa House
A new-build house with a timber structure, stone walls and green courtyards that bring light and air into every room. The whole brief is on the ground floor, open to the garden and facing south.

Yes. We can study the plots you are considering and tell you what each one allows you to build before you buy it. - Do you work outside Girona city?
Yes, throughout the province: the Costa Brava, Gironès, Baix and Alt Empordà, La Selva… And in Barcelona and La Rioja too. - Do you handle the planning permission?
Yes, we prepare all the documents and submit them to the town council. - Will you help us choose a builder?
Yes. We request quotes, compare them and advise you, but the decision is always yours. - How much does it cost?
