Design with intuition, build with reason.
We are a team of architects, Iker Pastor Irusta and Víctor Pastor Miranda, with offices in Girona, Barcelona and La Rioja. We founded COLANA in 2016, after more than ten years working in other studios. We see architecture as a dialogue between the client, the place and the way it is built, and every project as the result of a participatory, creative and constructive process. We bring all our professionalism, determination and enthusiasm to every commission.
How we work
01
Listen
Every commission starts by understanding the client: how they live, what they need and what they have to work with. The first conversation is for listening, not for drawing.
02
Decide with judgement
We design with intuition and test it against the facts: orientation, materials, budget and timescales. At every stage we give you the information you need to decide calmly.
03
Be on site
We follow the works closely. We solve problems on the spot, coordinate the trades and make sure what gets built stays true to the design.
“The carpenter, the lab technician and the conductor are craftsmen because they are devoted to doing their work well, simply for the sake of doing it well.”
Richard Sennett, The Craftsman (2009)

Shall we talk?
If you have a project in mind, we like to hear about it from the very start.
